Paul A. Rachmuth has held crucial roles in a variety of high-profile bankruptcy cases, representing debtors, major creditors, creditor committees and trustees. His experience includes managing large debtor bankruptcy cases, negotiating loan work-outs, leading complex bankruptcy litigations and negotiations, selling large bankruptcy claims, prosecuting reinsurance coverage actions, defending recovery actions, and analyzing complex financing structures for major banking institutions.

Most recently, Mr. Rachmuth represented Crdentia Corp and its ten subsidiaries in a successful chapter 11 reorganization of their healthcare staffing business; Teton Energy Corporation and its seven subsidiaries in a successful chapter 11 reorganization of their oil and gas exploration and production business; and City Lights Media Group and related entities in the liquidation of their television and movie production businesses.  Mr. Rachmuth also represents multi-billion dollar hedge funds in cases including the Lehman Brothers proceedings; debtors and creditors in out-of-bankruptcy restructurings; and defendants in preference and fraudulent conveyance litigations.

In other representative matters, Mr. Rachmuth successfully litigated the return of consignment goods in the Whitehall Jewelers bankruptcy case; represented shopping center landlords in retail bankruptcy cases; represented an aircraft service administrative claimant in the Northwest Airlines bankruptcy case; and represented the State of Connecticut in the Enron Corp. bankruptcy cases - obtaining a $440 million settlement in a constructive trust litigation.

Mr. Rachmuth is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute.  He lectures on bankruptcy issues and has published a variety of articles including "Recent Bankruptcy Litigation Pulls in Mortgage Lenders," Real Estate Finance Journal, Fall 2008; "Claims Trading Restrictions: Fasten Your Seat Belts," Bankruptcy and Restructuring Advisor, co-authored with Michael Venditto; and "Getting Down to Business: Business Defenses to Preference Actions," Bankruptcy and Restructuring Advisor.
